At work

I am responsible for monitoring EU digital and data protection regulation and influencing legislation in these areas. I serve as secretary to the EU Digital Finance Committee and the Data Protection Working Group. In addition, I represent Finance Finland in the European Banking Federation (EBF) and Insurance Europe (IE), two of our European umbrella organisations.

What’s something valuable you’ve learned during your career?

One of the key lessons I learned as legal counsel was that expertise in regulation alone is not enough. A skilled lawyer listens carefully, communicates clearly with diverse audiences and appreciates different perspectives. It is equally important to be thoroughly familiar with the sector and operating environment in which you work, as this is essential for understanding the practical implications of legislation.
